Maui Community College offers Culinary Arts program but it has recently been moved to the Pa'ina Building since year 2003. With the transfer to the new building, Maui Community College Food Service Program name has also transformed itself to Maui Culinary Academy. It has a $14 million high-end facility features with 7 speciality kitchens, food court, multimedia classrooms, meeting rooms and a fine dining restaurant. The teaching is an integration of commercial operations with dynamic learning environment. Even if the building and the name has changed, what remained is the curriculum that is the perfect mixture of foundations and traditional European training with Hawaii's multi-ethic cuisine. Classes are small, personal and rigorous. There is also additional learning gained through research and development as they experience these developments with local chefs, restaurants, resorts, farmers and vendors.
